The world can be a crazy place. Some times it helps to step back, close your eyes, and list out a few of the things you’re grateful for. Here’s what I’m grateful for this week, February 16 – 22:
What I’m grateful for:
—Let’s do the twist! Scientists have known for decades that Loggerhead Sea Turtles utilize Earth’s magnetic field to orient themselves in certain directions as if they have a built-in magnetic compass. A new study published recently in Nature has shown loggerheads actually memorize magnetic fields to guide them back to foraging grounds. When they recognize these spots, they do a little dance.
I can’t say I really understand what this means, but it does make me wonder. What kind of dance are we talking? Do the sea turtles break out into the Chicken Dance? The Macarena? Ballroom dancing? Hip Hop?

—Spill the tea. A hot cup of tea. I’ve been drinking a lot of green tea lately and I’ve been surprised by how much I’ve liked it.
—On the dot. Being on time. William Shakespeare supposedly said that it was better to be “three hours too soon than a minute too late.” Now that’s taking things to extremes, but I think he was onto something.

What gave me a smile?
Singer and social media personality Jax brought me to tears the other night. I stumbled across her song “Too Young to Be Old” from last year. In the song, she touches on the fear of watching loved one’s age.
It’s so real and heartfelt.
“I can’t believe you let me get married
When you made me pinky swear that you were my true love
The one who braids my hair
You moved me into an apartment
You assembled all my chairs
But dinner’s not the same when you’re not there
The hardest part of growin’ up is watchin’ time take everyone you love
But I won’t let it
No, I won’t accept it
You’re too young to be old
You’re too fast to be slow
You’re too wise to be confused
And I can’t do this on my own
Your lungs are strong
Your mind is sharp
Daddy, please don’t break my heart
And stay, don’t go
You’re too young, far too young to be old.”

Oh that song is so touching. 😢
I don’t like it when someoe arrives later than planned. Especially when it os everytime. I am alway on time. Or should I say, early, so that I am on time.

I try to be early, but I get when everyone can’t be. I’m more concerned usually with how others are. I’m much more forgiving if they think of me and apologize about being late.

oh, that song, my heart….
p.s. I’ve begun drinking green matcha tea, since purchasing my Subaru which is a bit of an unusual color that best matches the color of this tea, thus its new name. we humans are an unusual lot.

Punctuality is everything to me but Shakespeare was probably a bit over zealous. 😆
Tea is a wonderful daily ritual and you can’t go wrong with green tea!

I’ve always liked tea but probably the first I’ve been this consistent with it. I’ve never been a big green tea fan but I’ve been drinking a green earl grey which I’ve really liked!

Oh, oh, oh – I’m too blown away by that song to remember any of my other comments.
Great big three, Brian! Thank you for bringing the goodness!

Thank you for the Saturday smile where I’ll be carrying the question about what sort of dancing turtles do when they’re happy. I love it. And I’ll “cheers you” with my green tea…it’s my hot beverage of choice these days but I’ve gotta remember to get the bag out before it gets too bitter. 🥰

Maybe they do the tango or the foxtrot? Or maybe the moonwalk? The Running man or the sprinkler! Or the Electric Slide. I know the names but I will not be out there dancing with the turtles. Ha ha!

I had a friend–I use the term loosely–who would be incredibly put out if I was a minute late. We met for a movie once, and I was three minutes late, and she berated me until the man standing in front of us turned around and told her to get over it. I think that was our last social outing. I do my best to always be on time, and I usually am, but when someone says “I’ll meet you around 9 or so” I think there should be a little leeway. Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox now. Always good to be thankful 😊

Oh, I’m with you. I try to be early. I try to be thoughtful of other’s time. It really matters to me … but if you’re going to go overboard and be rude about it, see ya! 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️😎😎😎

Yea, focusing on things I’m grateful for is good medicine for me too. A good reminder. It’s easy for me to “freak out” about something in the news . . . trying to remind myself to take it day by day. Thanks Lauren.
