I fell.
I got up and fell again.
I got up and tried again, this time falling a third time.
When I wanted to stay down, I was reminded that there’s always hope. I gave it another shot and this time it worked.
Here’s to second, third, and fourth attempts and to keeping faith that things will workout, if only we keep trying.

Here’s a few other hopeful thoughts:
“You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.”
―William Faulkner

“Hope
Smiles from the threshold of the year to come,
Whispering ‘it will be happier’…”
―Alfred Tennyson
. . . . .
“It’s amazing how a little tomorrow can make up for a whole lot of yesterday.”
―John Guare, Landscape of the Body
. . . . .
“Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me. Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”
―Shel Silverstein
. . . . .
“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” —Audrey Hepburn

. . . . .
“Hope is the only thing stronger than fear.” —Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games
. . . . .
“There is some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for.” —J.R.R. Tolkien, The Two Towers
. . . . .
“Hold fast to dreams, For if dreams die, Life is a broken-winged bird, That cannot fly.” —Langston Hughes
. . . . .
“I have been bent and broken, but — I hope — into a better shape.” —Charles Dickens, Great Expectations
. . . . .
When Maggie a resident in a New York City building finds herself alone and pregnant, her protective doorman Guzmin promises his support and reminds her that better days are coming. “Tomorrow is a brand new day that’s never been touched” —Modern Love, Episode I

. . . . .
“The Sun will come out tomorrow” (Annie): This is the most famous iteration, sung in the musical and film adaptations of Annie. The lyrics promise that “tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, you’re only a day away.”
. . . . .
“You don’t lose hope, love. If you lose hope, you lose everything.” —Mrs. Potts, Beauty and the Beast (1991)
. . . . .
“Beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it’s the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up.” —Birdee Pruitt, Hope Floats (1998)
. . . . .
“Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”—Andy Dufresne, The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
. . . . .
“No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.” —John Keating, Dead Poet’s Society

The gardening quote by Audrey Hepburn is one of my favorites. I have used it on my gardening site for 20 years.

Stay tuned. I actually have something coming down the road in a few weeks on that. I had never heard that poem. In thinking about this piece, I came across that. Thought it really hit home. Such neat imagery.

Wonderful quotes of hope to start a brand new day. Your quotes remind me of Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables. “Isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?”

Oh I love that quote. It’s funny … you might be able to relate since you’ve written some this year about classic books. I never read Anne of green gables. Really need to go back and read it. I do g know why. As a kid, I was probably too shallow. Didn’t think it had any sports in it. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ But I really need to go back and read it!! 😎😎😎

You probably didn’t read it because it was classified as a “girl” book. My brother didn’t read it either. I read and reread every book in the series dozens of times. There are two collections of short stories about the community and characters who live there. Anne barely shows up in them. The books are “Chronicles of Avonlea” and “Further Chronicles of Avonlea.” You might enjoy those, too.

Yes, I’m sure that was part of it. Girls books and boys books. Ugh. I should’ve learned my lesson. When I read Little Women, another so-called girls book, I loved it.

I’m not always a spring person. We tend to get a ton of rain … but it’s really hit me this year. The idea of rebirth and a time for growth. Thought others might like it too. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for reading. When I write I find that I offer quotes or suggestions for others . . . but the advice is really for me. I need the hope as much as anybody. Love many of these quotes. Definitely inspiring. Thanks for stopping by!

Don’t laugh, but the first few lines reminded me of Chumbawumba: “I get knocked down, but I get up again. You’re never gonna keep me down.” It’s a silly one, but, like these much more eloquent quotes, it always reminds me that the choice to quit or keep going is always mine to make. Here’s to dusting ourselves off and trying again!

Oh you really made me laugh with that one. I forgot all about that song. But I definitely see the connection. Ha, ha. It has the same general theme: dust ourselves off and keep trying. Love it. Oh, thanks for point that out. I love it.

Oh Kotz’ book is on my “To Be Read Pile.” Someone else mentioned it to me too. Maybe God’s trying to give me a message that I really need to read it. Ha, ha. And thank you for the kind comment. You give me too much credit. If Kotz is a cheerleader . . . then I’m like a team mascot that hangs out on the side. Ha, ha. Thank you!

I love so many of the quotes that I printed, but one of my favorites is the one by Stephen King in Shawshank Redemption: “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” There really is hope even when we can’t see it.

I’m working on my faith. Some good days and some bad. But I agree, faith really is an act of hope. Faith that the sun will rise again. Maybe not tomorrow or the next day, but some day soon. Even though I struggle, I love that it keeps me going.

That’s so funny. You’re reading my mind Ab. (Btw, that can be dangerous. You should probably be careful. It’s kind of murky in there. Ha, ha.) NO, I was just thinking that I’ve been using quotes a lot lately and I wasn’t sure if readers liked it or if it was overkill. In this case, the pixel pics and quotes were what I needed personally, so I went with it. Thanks for the feedback. I think parents can definitely relate to the promise of a new day!!!!
