Making it home

I’m happy this time of year. Oh, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, but it’s more than that. I love families coming together. I love that college students start coming back to the nest today and later next week.

My son, our youngest, will arrive home later this evening. I probably won’t see him much. He’ll be working some to make a few extra dollars. We’ll probably only see each other in passing, until Thanksgiving Day, but that’s okay.

It’s a fun time.

And it goes by quick.

But it’s all the more special.

  1. Enjoy that family, Brian. Soak it all in. I do think time can feel like it is flying by as we get old-er. I also think a lot of folks select Thanksgiving as their very favorite holiday because it really is all about family…with a little food and beverage thrown in for good measure!

      1. Nothing feels complete until they are all under one roof. Well now wait…I say this AFTER they’ve arrived home for good after college. We might be having a different convo in another year or so. Lol

Before the week gets crazy – Happy Thanksgiving! ❤️

  2. That commercial has all the feels, doesn’t it? I’m glad you’ll get to see your son, even if you’re going to be two ships passing in the night for much of his visit. Enjoy your time together!

  3. Favorite holiday here, as well. Son Dan and family have finally found a house (still four hours away) and will be moving in next week, so we’ll have a very quiet Thanksgiving. Enjoy having family around!

    1. We’ll have two of three —both sons— for Thanksgiving. Our daughter will be with her fiancé’s family. But we’ll have everyone for Christmas. Just very grateful that they still like coming home! It’s so simple but that commercial has always stayed with me. Sharing at its best right?

  4. Commercials don’t usually bring tears, but this one does, Brian. I know how you feel, so happy to have your son coming home. We’re long past the college days, but since our son and daughter live out of state, the emotions are the same. Wishing you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving. 🦃🍁
