My learning superpower

I wasn’t a big fan of school as a young kid. I complained about mystery illnesses to my mom and tried to convince her to let me sleep for ten more minutes and to even “play hooky” and stay home. Yes, I might not have liked school in my youth, but I’ve come a long way in my life.

If I have a superpower, it’s definitely a love of learning new things. I have a growth mindset and love coming away with something that makes life more interesting, empowers me, and helps me become a better version of myself.

In the words of the great Dr. Seuss, aka Theodor Seuss Geisel, “The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

Yes, the more places I want to go. Who’s with me?

  1. In case I haven’t yet recommended Ian Leslie’s Curious, imma do so now! I have to read it in very small bursts, I learn so much in each page. This morning’s small-pages reading-subset … one that could’ve inspired this exact post. 😀 😀 😀

  2. This is a fabulous quote: “The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” So true. We are fortunate to have the internet and be able to look anything up to continue to learn. Despite the bad things about it, there is much good.

  3. A good story and reminder it’s never too late to develop a growth mindset. Malala’s story is so compelling for how fiercely she defends her and others rights to education.
