Gifts of Christmas: Faith

Christmas is not what we touch with our hands or see with our eyes, but what we feel inside and know in our hearts. It’s the love that a small child has for his or her parents. It’s the excitement we feel about getting together with loved ones and trading jokes and stories of cherished memories. It’s the happiness that young love or even an old married couple feel in their hearts.

Sometimes life gets in the way. We lose focus. We get caught up in trying to give the perfect present. We focus more on the trappings of Christmas than Christmas itself. We forget that Jesus Christ was born and gave his life so that we may live with purpose and meaning and have eternal life.

On this Christmas Eve, may we return to and remember: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.

I offer my simple wish for you: a joyous Christmas filled with Joy, Hope, Love and Faith.

  1. Thank you, Brian! I especially love the quote from Dickens…keeping Christmas in the heart…now that’s something to aspire to! Merry Christmas to you and your family! ❤

    1. You’ll appreciate this. We were watching the Muppet Christmas Carol — four adults, not a kid in sight, all being kids at heart — and the movie had a version of this Dickens’ line. I knew I had to use it. Love the thought behind it. Merry Christmas to you too! Enjoy it!
