My grateful list for 2025

I started a habit a few years ago of listing out some of the things that I’m grateful for each Thanksgiving. Here’s a few of the things on this year’s list:

–Family members and great friends near and far.

–My wife still loves me. Let me repeat that: my wife still loves me. In this crazy age, that’s a good thing. A few weeks ago, we saw these three signs at a shop in Cape May, New Jersey. I knew instantly which was my wife’s favorite. I didn’t even have to ask. I just knew. Of course, it’s the middle one. I’ll take the Pain in the Ass title and the love.

–Calm in the middle of a raging storm. Thank you God.

–People helping people. Kindness, respect, and service to others.

–Advent coming.

–Simple things like fall leaves.

–Taking a moment to be at peace.

–Encouraging words

–Good health.

–Trying new foods and returning to old favorites.

–A warm sweatshirt or sweater.

–Family time.

–A hug from your child, young or old.

–The anticipation and hope of Christmas.

–Trusting that everything will work out. Keeping the hope.

Happy Thanksgiving.

  1. This is wonderful, Brian, God bless your marriage! I started attending a new church last Sunday, the pastor was talking about being grateful which is something sadly missing in people’s lives today in my view. When I am done putting away my laundry, I actually thank God for those clean clothes! 😂👍🏻

  2. A grateful list is one I try to keep in mind at all times. Concentrating on what I am lucky to have and be grateful for makes any challenges along the way much, much easier to navigate. And of course, issues are much easier to navigate with a partner that loves (puts up with) you, so Mrs. B gets a shout-out here. A great list, Brian. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

      1. Oh, I don’t think it’s trite, I have noticed the same is true for a lot of people, myself included. Gratitude tends to make us happier, too.
You and yours have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too!
