One kayak, please!

The phrase “sly as a fox” came about because foxes are known for their cleverness and cunning.

You have “crazy like a fox.”

In the 70s, people talked about “foxy ladies.” You hear folks talk a lot now about “the fox guarding the henhouse.” Hmm, I can think of a few examples. I betcha you can too.

Soldiers complain about having to dig “fox holes.” And you occasionally hear someone say: “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.” An English pangram, the phrase uses every letter of the English alphabet.

There’s Fox News, but this is a family blog, no need to lie, cheat, or steal here. As a reminder, Fox News paid more than $787 million to avoid a defamation suit for making blatantly false claims over the 2020 election.

However, the other day I came across a fox trying to take a kayak or paddle board out onto the bay. Now that would be a sight to see!

I guess there’s a time for everything. Foxes love to do the Foxtrot. Who knew foxes liked to hit the waves too?

    1. He was a cool little guy. I was surprised to see the fox out in the middle of the day. Most folks missed him completely. He hung to the periphery. We sometimes see a fox in the woods behind our yard. Like this little guy, the fox sticks to the edges. I gave him a wide berth. He obviously knew his way around.

    1. I was shocked at first to see him. He definitely kept to the periphery away from people. He looked like he knew he was around too. When he was me, he headed straight for the kayaks. Couldn’t you see him out on the way . . . so cool and casual. Ha, ha.

    1. Yea, I think mainly nocturnal but they can be found during the day looking for food. I think especially in the summer. I actually called some folks about that a few years ago when I saw a fox during the day near my house. I was thinking rabies or something but they told me it’s not uncommon, at least in northeast foxes. I obviously gave this one a wide berth. I wasn’t getting any closer!!! 🤣🤣🤣
