Westward Ho!

In April, I was stuck in traffic a few miles from home and the drive seemed to take forever. Five minutes passed and we barely moved. I rolled my eyes. Would the drive ever end?

Fast forward to early May, my son and I were driving cross country, more than 2,500 miles away to get California, and the trip seemed to race by. The trip was over before I knew it, but I learned a few things something.

First, some trips can take days and still not be long enough. It all depends on who you’re sharing the ride. Secondly, it’s hard to drive west and not come away full of hope and excitement. Here’s a few of my shots and some matching thoughts:

  1. I found myself thinking “oh, this is my favorite” as I read each quote. I guess that’s how we know they are all so good! Thanks for the hope and inspiration, Brian!! 🙂 ❤

  2. I particularly like the Christopher Reeve quote – a remarkably inspiring man who never gave up hope and did so much good.

  4. How fortunate you were to drive your son to California. I have memories of driving my son to and from UC Santa Barbara, but it was only four hours. The bigger adventure was driving my daughter to college in Salt Lake City. I really enjoyed that drive, much more than going through LA to Santa Barbara. I especially love the C.S. Lewis quote.
