Gifts of Christmas: Love

When we talk of Christmas, we think often of Christmas Carols sung on the radio; lights lit up outside in magical displays; stockings hanging in the living room; expensive presents under the tree. When we focus on these few things, when we focus on the commercialism of Christmas, we miss what matters most. We miss what’s right in front of our faces.

We miss that the true meaning of Christmas is love.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish, but might have eternal life.”

This weeks’s gift: The gift of Christmas Love.

  1. A lovely piece, Brian. I particularly like the Dale Evans’ quote. Wishing you and your family a happy and peaceful Christmas. I expect I will have the opportunity to say it again in your upcoming posts leading up the Christmas Eve/Day if you have time to write between now and then.

    1. I liked that quote too! Hope you have a great Christmas week and week leading up to New Year’s too. Yes, I plan to post throughout the next two week — mainly because I have a few pieces that I wrote in advance. I’m probably most looking forward to squeezing out some writing time next week! Always like that. Will you be writing/posting or are you taking a break? Have fun either way!

      1. Thanks, Brian. I should have plenty of time to write over Christmas, perhaps, on the ‘big’ day itself (motivation and inspiration permitting), as I’ll be on my own. Writing might keep me out of mischief! Glad to hear you’ll be writing something somewhere along the way, too. 🎄🎅☃
